Positions Available

 

 

Lifeguards
KVPD is currently seeking lifeguards for the summer 2015 season at Splash Valley Aquatic Park. Under the general supervision of the
Aquatic Manager, this position will be responsible for the protection of the public against accidents, the proper implementation of
rescues and first aid, maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and other duties as assigned. Lifeguards will be certified through the Ellis
and Associates International Lifeguard Training Program. This is a seasonal position that runs from May-August and will consist of daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.

Swim Lesson Instructors
KVPD is currently seeking swim lesson instructors for the summer 2015 season at Splash Valley Aquatic Park. Under the general supervision of the Aquatic Manager, this position will be responsible for the safety and instruction of students in the Learn to Swim Program. Instructors will also prepare for classes, evaluate students, provide appropriate feedback to students and parents, and perform other duties as assigned. This is a seasonal position that runs from May-August and will consist of daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.

Concession Attendants
KVPD is currently seeking concession attendants for the summer 2015 season at Splash Valley Aquatic Park. Under the general supervision of the Aquatic Manager, this position will be responsible for proper handling and preparation of food in the Castaway Café. Attendants will also maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, control the cash register and handle money, provide excellent customer service, and perform other duties as assigned. This is a seasonal position that runs from May-August and will consist of daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.

Admissions Cashiers
KVPD is currently seeking admissions cashiers for the summer 2015 season as Splash Valley Aquatic Park. Under the general supervision of the Aquatic Manager, this position will be responsible for the collection of daily admissions fees for customers entering the facility. Cashiers will also register participants for park district programs and passes, provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and safe work environment, complete front desk and administration tasks, and perform other duties as assigned. This is a seasonal position that runs from May-August and will consist of daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.

Maintenance
KVPD is currently seeking maintenance workers for the summer 2015 season at Splash Valley Aquatic Park. Under the general supervision
of the Aquatic Manager, this position will be responsible for testing pool chemicals, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming pools, moving lawn, picking up garbage, and perform other duties as assigned. This is a seasonal position that runs from April - early Sept and could consist of daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.

Lifeguard Qualification and Training

As a Jeff Ellis & Associates facility,Splash Valley Aquatic Park strives for excellence in the aquatic industry. The park seeks 150+ guards yearly and is currently accepting applications. Submit an application today! In order to lifeguard at Splash Valley applicant must complete all required elements of Ellis and Asspciates Lifeguard course. Lifeguard candidates are expected to attend all days and times of one of the following sessions. Completion of the course DOES NOT guarantee employment with the Kankakee Valley Park District.

Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Courses

Learn lifeguarding rescues, CPR, first aid, supplemental oxygen support and AED implementation. This program promotes important safety skills, work experience, teamwork and leadership skills. Upon successfully completing all required elements of the course, students will be certified to lifeguard at Kankakee Valley Park District’s Splash Valley, and other Ellis & Associates facilities. All supplies are provided; lifeguard candidate should bring bathing suit, towel, and change of clothes as the majority of the class will be held in the water. Lifeguard candidates are expected to attend all days and times of class. Choose Session I, II, or III (30 hrs. total).

Completion of the course DOES NOT guarantee employment with the Kankakee Valley Park District. You must complete the interview process before registering for this class.
